Joe Biden branded Donald Trump's refusal to concede an "embarrassment" as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo became the latest top Trump ally to claim the Republican president would ultimately win the election. Mr Biden lashed out at Mr Trump but said his administration's obstructionism would not stop him progressing with his transition plans and picking cabinet members. “We’re already beginning a transition. We're already underway,” the president-elect said yesterday. Mr Pompeo, the country's top diplomat, had become the latest leading Republican to refuse to acknowledge Mr Biden's election win, claiming there would be a "smooth transition to a second Trump administration". Meanwhile Mr Biden's transition was being disrupted as it emerged Mr Trump had refused to share the presidential daily briefings with his successor, a compilation of the US government's most significant intelligence insights, leaving the Democrat in the dark about the most critical threats the US faces as he prepares to take office in January.
